National Pediatric Cancer Foundation Launches Nationwide Campaign During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

The campaign’s mission is simple: bring the pizza community together to help children battling cancer.

From neighborhood pizzerias and national suppliers to distributors, technology companies, food influencers and pizza tours, Pizza for Good is bringing together every corner of the pizza industry around one important cause: helping fund better, safer treatments for children with cancer.

Pizza Bib was the first industry partner to join the initiative and has played an important role in helping bring the inaugural campaign to life. Pizza Bib also created and generously donated custom Pizza for Good pizza boxes to help spread awareness of the campaign.

This September, pizzerias across the country will support Pizza for Good by donating and providing customers the opportunity to round-up at the register, while other industry partners are creating unique ways to engage pizza lovers and support pediatric cancer research.

Participating Pizzerias Include:

  • Jay Luigi — Tampa & St. Petersburg, Florida
  • The Corner Crust Pizza & Brew — Cornelius & Kannapolis, North Carolina
  • Nevada Pizza Kitchen — Multiple Locations in the Las Vegas, Nevada area
  • Peace Love and Pizza — Multiple Locations in the Atlanta, Georgia area
  • White Rabbit Gastropub — Frederick, Maryland
  • Rad Pies Taproom — Williamsport, Maryland
  • Spark Pizza — Redmond, Washington
  • Little Italy Ristorante — Groveport, Ohio

  • PDQ Signature Systems, Inc. POS — Promoting round-up donations through participating restaurants
  • Forkfluence — Mobilizing food influencers to help spread the message
  • DeIorio’s — Printing the Pizza for Good campaign message on 40,000 cases of pizza dough
  • Scott’s Pizza Tours — Asking guests to donate $1 upon booking and for every slice eaten on September tours
  • Orlando Foods — Donating $1 from every e-commerce bag of pizza flour sold during September

A Campaign Built Around the Power of Pizza

“No parent should ever have to hear the words, ‘Your child has cancer,’ but every day, 43 families do. Pizza for Good gives us an opportunity to turn something as simple as ordering a pizza into something that can make a real difference—funding research that gives children a better chance at a healthier future. We are incredibly grateful to Pizza Bib, multiple industry leaders, every participating pizzeria, and every customer who chooses to take part in this movement,” said Dawn Zachman, Chief Growth & Impact Officer at the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation.

“Pizza brings people together, and Pizza for Good gives our industry an opportunity to come together for something much bigger than pizza,” said Jamie Heal, CEO of Pizza Bib. “When we learned about NPCF’s vision, we knew we wanted to be the first to step up. This is just the beginning. Our goal is to help this campaign grow significantly over the next five years and inspire more pizzerias, suppliers, partners and pizza lovers to join us.”

Every day, 43 children in the United States are diagnosed with cancer. Pizza for Good invites the pizza community to turn its collective passion into meaningful support for the children and families facing this devastating disease.

Throughout September, pizza lovers can participate by visiting participating pizzerias, ordering qualifying pizzas, rounding up purchases, joining participating pizza tours or supporting campaign partners.
