The IT Certification Council (ITCC) is accepting submissions for its 2027 Innovation Award, now in its thirteenth year. The award recognizes people and organizations whose work has made IT certification better, and you don’t have to be an ITCC member to enter.

“Some of the best ideas in IT certification come from our own community. The ITCC brings together both IT companies and testing providers to tackle common challenges, share what works, and turn great ideas into industry-wide innovation. This award celebrates the people who build something new, share what they learn, and help all of us move forward,” said Jim Lucari, ITCC Chair.

To qualify, the work should be an innovative initiative, process, or service put in place within the past two years, and it should have created value for at least one group in the IT certification industry. That could mean stronger test security, a new method for evaluating competencies, or a program that’s easier to get to and more inclusive. Companies and individuals can both apply.

Submissions are open through November 13, 2026. The 2027 Innovation Award page at https://itcertcouncil.org/innovation has the submission process and judging criteria. Finalists present to a judging panel, and the winner will be announced at the ITCC Spring Member Meeting.

Past winners include ETS and PSI, Microsoft, Caveon, Stripe, SAP and Questionmark, Certiverse, HPE, and IBM. You can see them all on the Leadership page of the ITCC site.
