MyVest, a leading provider of enterprise wealth management technology, today announced a significant expansion of fixed income capabilities in its Strategic Portfolio System™ (SPS), giving bonds the same operational scale, automated rebalancing, and portfolio management support the platform already provides for equities.
The update adds three capabilities that together allow wealth management firms to manage bonds with the depth and precision advisors and their clients increasingly require:
- Security-level fixed income order generation — the SPS rebalancer can now generate trade orders for specific bonds, going beyond commonly used generic fixed income orders.
- Fixed income compliance rules — credit quality thresholds and security-specific restrictions run natively within the rebalancing workflow before any order is generated.
- Expanded fixed income analytics — security- and portfolio-level visibility into bond characteristics, including yield metrics, duration, and credit ratings, within the same platform view used to manage equities.
The enhancements address a persistent gap across the managed accounts industry: most platforms still rely on manual or generic fixed income orders rather than the security-level execution that institutional bond management requires. The update, now live, was informed by input from one of MyVest’s enterprise wealth management clients.
Security-level order generation is the most significant capability of the SPS rebalancer and includes:
- Calculating accrued interest at the time of each proposed buy or sell and incorporating it directly into principal calculations to reflect the true cost of bond transactions;
- Enabling configurable accrued interest exclusions, allowing firms to assess portfolio drift using clean prices rather than income accruals — an important distinction for tax-sensitive households;
- Aligning face-value rounding with standard fixed income market conventions; and
- Supporting overnight reconciliation against custodian files through a principal buffer.
The expanded analytics layer gives investment managers and advisors direct visibility into every bond’s characteristics alongside equities and other asset classes in a single portfolio view. The platform automatically calculates weighted averages for key metrics, delivering a consolidated snapshot of fixed income exposure without leaving the platform.
“Fixed income is experiencing a resurgence in advisor and investor attention, and wealth management firms need technology that can keep up,” said Brian Marchiel, Chief Product Officer at MyVest. “With these enhancements, MyVest’s SPS now delivers analytics, compliance enforcement, and security-level order generation for fixed income that meets the same standard we apply to every other asset class in the unified managed account (UMA).”
The capabilities build on MyVest’s previously announced partnership with bondIT, which provides fixed income model creation and security selection within SPS. Combined with that partnership, today’s update completes the entire fixed income workflow — from model construction and security selection through analytics, compliance, and order execution — on a single platform.
All four SPS rebalance algorithms, including advanced tax management, have been updated to incorporate fixed income order generation. SPS continues to support fixed income via manager sleeves, generics, and manual trading.
