Sila, an advanced battery technology and materials company, announced that it prevailed in an ex parte re-examination of Sila’s core US Patent 10,374,221 and a re-examination certificate was issued on July 23, 2026, confirming no changes to the patent’s claims. Sila holds nearly 300 patents and patents pending worldwide covering silicon-carbon anode technology (Si/C), including foundational IP for the technology and its deployment in batteries.
As the sixth successful defense against ex parte re-examination challenges, both in the United States and globally, the outcome further strengthens the company’s IP position and provides additional confidence to customers, partners, and other stakeholders as Sila ramps gigascale production of its Si/C technology, Titan Silicon®, in the United States.
