BOONE, Iowa, Sept. 08, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Farm Progress Show 2026 concluded Sept. 3 after three days of showcasing ag innovation, celebrating women in farming and offering hands-on experiences. Nearly 600 exhibitors attracted large crowds to the award-winning event held Sept. 1-3 in the heartland of Iowa to witness cutting-edge agricultural technology in action.

2026 show highlights included:

  • International product unveilings: Leading agriculture companies chose FPS26 as the platform to launch their latest equipment and technology.
  • Women in the Field: Producer of the Year Award: Four outstanding women farmers from across the U.S. were recognized for their industry contributions.
  • Agronomy Zone & Drone Zone: Research-grade crop plots provided side-by-side product comparisons, and the Drone Zone made its Boone debut.
  • On-site exhibitor rebooking office: Exhibitors took advantage of this first-time offering, with 28% of paid booth square footage from 2025 rebooked for Farm Progress Show 2027. This demonstrates strong confidence in the event’s value and future growth.
  • Farm Progress AGTech launch: Farm Progress announced Farm Progress AGTech, a comprehensive year-round ecosystem connecting farmers, technology innovators and industry stakeholders to accelerate agricultural transformation.

Strong attendance despite economic headwinds

The 2026 show demonstrated the resilience of American agriculture, with farmers traveling far and wide to explore solutions for today’s challenging economic landscape. Despite ongoing concerns about commodity prices and input costs, strong attendance figures reflected the industry’s commitment to innovation and efficiency.

“Farmers are facing real economic pressures, but they’re not backing down from investing in their operations,” said Matt Jungmann, senior national events director at Farm Progress. “When times are tough, farmers don’t retreat. They invest smarter, and that’s exactly what we witnessed over these three days.”

Women in the Field makes history

The inaugural Women in the Field: Producer of the Year award ceremony on Sept. 2 celebrated the International Year of the Woman Farmer. Wendy Johnson of Charles, City, Iowa, was named the first-ever recipient, selected from four finalists representing diverse agricultural operations across Mississippi, Iowa, Indiana and California.

“Farm Progress has been telling women’s stories in agriculture for decades, and the International Year of the Woman Farmer provided the ideal backdrop to launch this award,” said Peyton Fair, program organizer and Farm Progress events specialist. “This award and the programming around it will continue to grow, ensuring women’s voices remain central to agriculture’s future.”

Agronomy Zone yields unmatched farmer insights

The debut Agronomy Zone, featuring an expanded partnership with Ag PhD and the Hefty brothers, exceeded expectations with farmers participating in daily guided plot tours. The research-grade crop plots provided side-by-side product comparisons that farmers could evaluate in real growing conditions.

In addition, the Drone Zone made its Boone debut after successful introduction in Decatur, Ill., in 2025. The dedicated 500-by-500-foot demonstration area provided an immersive perspective on precision aerial applications. Farmers observed first-person views of operator controls and drone cameras from a tent equipped with large-screen TVs.
