United Global Excellence Awards Recognition at International Peace Conclave Highlights a Career Dedicated to Restoration, Reentry and
Transforming Communities
LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, September 16, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — More than three decades of turning personal adversity into community action has earned Rev. Dr. Troy F. Vaughn international recognition for a body of work that has helped transform thousands of lives.
Vaughn recently received a United Global Excellence Awards Certificate of Appreciation at the International Peace Conclave, a recognition that places an international spotlight on his longstanding commitment to addressing homelessness, reentry, behavioral health, workforce development and the needs of underserved communities.
This honor represents a powerful milestone for Vaughn, whose journey began far from the international stage. Once homeless on Los Angeles’ Skid Row and impacted by the justice system, he has spent more than 30 years building organizations, partnerships and programs designed to give others, pathways from crisis to stability, employment and self-sufficiency.
“The UNGPC recognition gives me an opportunity to take a message of restoration beyond our borders,” said Vaughn. “We’ve seen that when you address the whole person; housing, behavioral health, recovery, employment and reentry, you can transform lives and strengthen communities. My goal is to share what we’ve learned in the U.S. as a framework that can be adapted in communities around the world. The challenges may differ, but the need for dignity, opportunity and hope is universal.”
Vaughn serves as President and CEO of Christ-Centered Ministries (CCM) and CEO and co-founder of the Los Angeles Regional Reentry Partnership (LARRP). He is also Senior Pastor of Restoration Family Center and, since 2020, has served through a gubernatorial appointment on the state board now known as the California Correctional Training and Rehabilitation Authority (CALCTRA).
Pastor Vaughn’s consideration for the United Nations Global Peace Council (UNGPC) Peace Ambassadorship includes 28 years of work through Christ-Centered Ministries, 15 years of collaborative reentry work through LARRP, five years of Manna Feast social-enterprise development, as well as government and community partnerships and statewide public service.
In 2025 alone, CCM-related initiatives reported 2,742 individuals engaged through street-level outreach and 2,248 enrolled in supportive services. Of those served, 1,287 were connected to interim housing and 127 achieved permanent housing placements. Workforce initiatives resulted in 281 employment outcomes and 687 workforce credentials earned. The work also extended to immediate public health and crisis response, with 83 emergency interventions and 1,450 Narcan kits distributed during the year.
Behind those numbers is a philosophy Vaughn has championed throughout his career: communities cannot effectively address homelessness, incarceration, addiction, unemployment and behavioral health as isolated problems. Sustainable transformation requires coordinated solutions that address the whole person while creating pathways to housing, treatment, employment, restoration and long-term stability.
For Vaughn, international recognition also brings his story full circle. His journey from homelessness on Skid Row and incarceration to executive leadership and international recognition is chronicled in his book, From Skid Row to CEO. But the larger story, Vaughn says, is what becomes possible when lived experience is transformed into service.
This honor provides a global platform for a mission Vaughn has pursued locally and statewide for years: restoring dignity, expanding opportunity and demonstrating that transformed lives can become catalysts for transformed communities.
