Harmony Publishing has launched three children’s self-publishing packages, taking a picture book from manuscript to print and distribution from $1,499. Each package includes editing, original illustration, ISBN registration, printing and worldwide distribution, and authors keep 100% of their rights and royalties.

September 29, 2026 – Harmony Publishing launched three children’s self-publishing packages on Wednesday, taking a picture book from manuscript to print and distribution from $1,499.

The packages cover the full production of a picture book. That includes editing, original illustration, interior layout, cover design, ISBN registration, color printing and distribution to Amazon, Barnes & Noble and bookstores. Printed copies come with each package and authors keep 100% of their rights and royalties, including copyright in the illustrations commissioned for the book.

The three packages are:

Picture Book, at $1,499. For authors who already have finished artwork. Includes 25 printed paperback copies.

Illustrated, at $3,799. Includes 24 original illustrations, character sketch approval, two revision rounds and 50 printed paperback copies.

Complete, at $5,499. Includes developmental editing, 32 original illustrations, three revision rounds, hardcover and paperback, 100 paperback copies and 10 hardcovers.

Each package covers picture books of up to 32 pages and 1,000 words. Production runs on square 8.5-inch trim with full-color interiors.

Illustration is the largest cost in a picture book and the packages include it rather than quoting it separately. The Complete package carries 32 original illustrations with three rounds of revisions. Authors approve a character sketch before illustration begins.

Each package also includes an ISBN and barcode, an author page and eBook conversion. Titles are distributed to Amazon, Barnes & Noble and to bookstores and libraries through IngramSpark. Authors can order additional printed copies at any point and the company quotes those separately because print pricing depends on page count, trim size and whether the interior is color.

More than 1,000 books have been published for more than 500 authors in more than 20 countries since 2016, according to the company.
