ACRE Perfection Shingle Siding Wins Architect’s Newspaper 2026 Best of Products Award

ACRE Perfection Shingle Siding is a perfection shingle panel made from upcycled rice hulls. Engineered to capture the classic look of cedar shingles, it resists water, weather, splintering, pests, and rot. Each panel measures 4 feet long, 11-7/8 inches wide, and 5/16 inch thick, with 5-inch and 5-1/2-inch reveal options.

The product caught the attention of the judges, including Ann Lui, a Best of Products juror and founding principal of Future Firm, who shared, “I had never heard of a shingle made from rice husks, so I think this is really exciting and makes a case for a siding system that doesn’t rely on cedar.”

ACRE is the first and only stainable composite on the market. It takes stain evenly and produces a brushed grain texture, without the knots, sap lines, or tannins that cause uneven staining in wood shingles.
